Long-time community organizer best-known as founding director of the Veterans Coffeehouse in Danielson. This program now serves 60-75 veterans each week and was heralded on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives by Congressman Joe Courtney. Also served on the Northeast District Dept. of Health board for 9 years, including 3 terms as chair. His leadership led NDDH to become a true public health department (introduced lead paint and radon testing, dental screening, immunization clinics, etc.), not just one that focused on septic systems, while holding the budget to an increase of just 10 cents per capita per year.
