Asa Scranton
Resident of Woodstock for over 30 years and family has lived in Woodstock since the early 1870s; great grandfather was a blacksmith by trade but was also a State Senator.
Graduated from Woodstock Academy in 1983.
Graduated from Eastern CT State University and received a BS degree in Environmental Science in 1987.
Certified Professional Geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists. Retired Licensed Environmental Professional.
Worked for major national banking institutions reviewing environmental documentation in support of commercial and industrial loan applications.
Created his own company, Applied Risk Solutions, as an independent environmental contractor. Currently employed with a national environmental consulting firm as a Senior Environmental Specialist that is ranked in the top 200 of all International Engineering Design firms and ranked in the top 3 for U. S. Nuclear Engineering firms and manages a highly specialized and trained team of 15 people within a company of over 1,500 that supports forward-thinking and energy solutions such as wind, solar energy, and energy grid rebuilding, recycling, electric automobiles, etc., with major industrial and bank clients.
Married with a daughter and son.
Has designed and built two homes and a carriage barn, providing his own trade work.
Hobbies include salvaging and restoring vintage tractors, trucks, and cars, cooking, gardening, writing, and much more.
Co-founder and President of the Old Iron Tractor Club based in Woodstock with members from CT, RI, and MA for more than 15 years.
