To offer experienced leadership, we are thrilled to announce our nominee for
Board of Education
Lisa Shemansky-Benoit
“I am an experienced educator with a passion to serve our schools.”
Lisa Shemansky-Benoit was born and raised in Union, Connecticut and transferred to Woodstock Academy her junior year, graduating in 1997. She continued her education earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Assumption University, with a major in English and minors in Education and Spanish, and a Masters of Art in Teaching (MAT) from Sacred Heart University. She began working in education in 2004, as an Instructional Aide. Lisa also interned in an elementary school and taught Seventh Grade English in Connecticut before moving to the Tantasqua Regional School District in Massachusetts.
Shemansky-Benoit and her family settled in Woodstock during the summer of 2019. In Woodstock they found a home where they could put down roots and offer their daughter an excellent education. They are continually amazed by all this community has to offer.
As an experienced teacher, Lisa is comfortable working with parents and school administrators. She is also a parent of a middle school student in the district. She is an avid supporter of education and is eager to bring her perspective to the Board of Education.
In her spare time, Lisa and her family enjoy exploring and supporting local establishments, attempting to find her green thumb in gardening, and vacationing in Maine during the summer.
