To offer experienced leadership, we are thrilled to announce our nominee for
Tax Collector
Deana Pajak
“I look forward to bringing excellence in customer service to town hall.”
Deana spent the last 22 years working in a municipal government. In addition to being knowledgeable, she believes that leaders need to share their know-how and mentor others. Deana has spent 14 years in the Tax Collector’s office and 8 in the Town Clerk’s office, and is certified by the State of Connecticut as both a Tax Collector and a Town Clerk. Her past experience is varied and includes that of a project manager traveling across the U.S. for a litigation support company, a manager for a men’s clothing Store, and an administrator on websites for an annual report service. Deana stresses customer service in all areas of her work.
Deana grew up in Thompson and truly admired this neighboring town. She aspired to settle in Woodstock and it has been her home for over two decades. She and her husband purchased land here in town in 1996, built their home, and moved in November 1997.
Deana has raised two wonderful young men who also call Woodstock home. They attended Woodstock schools from PreK to grade 12. She particularly enjoyed being part of the parent experience at Woodstock Elementary school from PreK though the years of the Multi-Age Program, and working with the young writers and their books. Chaperoning was another enjoyable opportunity, particularly on both 8th grade Washington, D.C. trips. With two young athletes, Deana also participated in little league, various school sports, Cub Scouts Pack 27 Woodstock, and Woodstock BSA Troop 27.
Deana is running for Woodstock’s tax collector because she has the experience, the certification, the know-how, and the dedication for the job. She has a deep desire to work for the Town that she chose to build a life in. She wants to support services to our community. She will strive to improve morale, training and efficiency, and treat everyone with respect and courtesy.
