Lisa Thomas CT Senate, 35

The Woodstock Democratic Town Committee is proud to endorse Lisa Thomas for the Connecticut State Senate District 35.

Lisa was a special education teacher for 37 years, and in 2021 was named Teacher of the Year at Clover Street School in Windsor. Lisa has been elected to 7 terms on the Coventry Town Council and is currently Chairwoman. During the 2013-15 term she was elected by Democratic and Republican councilors to be Coventry Town Council Chair. As a senator, she'll continue to work across the aisle to bring healthcare, education, and growth to Eastern Connecticut. She also has a background in labor and employment law, and is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association. Lisa and her husband Eric live in Coventry, where they raised their now adult daughters.

In Hartford, Lisa will advocate and form partnerships for Eastern Connecticut's small businesses, schools, access to healthcare, family farms and land conservation. Lisa knows that natural resources are a part of what makes Eastern CT a great place to live and visit, and Lisa will carry this truth with her to the State Senate to fight for the rural communities in the 35th district.

“It is clear to me from speaking with neighbors in the 35th district, that the people of Connecticut care deeply about their neighbors, their communities and the overall health and future of the State,” said Thomas. “In a time that continues to be encompassed by uncertainty, one thing is clear: Connecticut’s 35th Senate District needs a leader in the state legislature who will stand up and advocate for them – a leader who is recognized as someone who brings people together, not drives them apart.”
